OCEANSIDE, CA (March 6, 2023) – Diana Cruz Ortiz, a wife and mother, impressed the judges with her shopping skills to win the Oceanside Best Shopper contest finals and $1,000 on Saturday, March 4 at Mission Marketplace. Ortiz, who works at the Armed forces YMCA at Camp Pendleton, and her husband, a retired Marine, are the parents of two boys, ages 8 and 13 years old. In her contest entry Ortiz said, “I always shop locally to support my community instead of shopping on-line.”
Diana and the other four finalists, Kimberly Aguilar, Stacey Anderson, Abbey Glauch and Michelle Reyes, who were selected from contest entry essays on “Why I’m Oceanside Best Shopper,” each won $500 to shop at Mission Marketplace in the three-hour contest and make the smartest buys for the money. The finals Judges, Scott Ashton, Oceanside Chamber of Commerce CEO, Christina Sharp, Mira Costa College Business Professor and Carrie Harkin, Professional Personal Shopper and Stylist, reviewed the purchases to select Oceanside’s Best Shopper contest winner, Diana Cruz Ortiz.
